Don’t worry about the old times anymore,
God has lots of new things in store,
He has a definite plan for you,
Just listen and do what He tells you to
You gotta follow God’s plan, follow God’s plan
You gotta do what He says, as long as you can,
And if you do what He tells you to,
There’ll be lots of riches in store for you,
You gotta follow God’s plan, follow God’s plan
If He tells you to do somethin’
Don’t you argue, or nothin’
Do what He wants, in every way you can,
Just to pay Him back — He died for the sins of man
You gotta follow God’s plan, follow God’s plan
You gotta do what He says, as long as you can,
And if you do what He tells you to,
There’ll be lots of riches in store for you,
You gotta follow God’s plan, follow God’s plan
When satan tries to confront you, to push you back
Fight back in Jesus’ name, lead the attack;
He will help to see you through the fight,
If only you obey Him, and try to do what’s right
You gotta follow God’s plan, follow God’s plan
You gotta do what He says, as long as you can,
And if you do what He tells you to,
There’ll be lots of riches in store for you,
You gotta follow God’s plan, follow God’s plan
My sisters and I performed this song in “concerts” for my parents. Unlike many of my early songs, this one did not see changes over time; we stuck to the original.
