In that stable, in that manger;
The cows all around, a crying could be heard...
It was that baby, soon to be our Lord
What fun it is to know all this and read it in His Word
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jesus was born t’day.
In a stable, by the inn,
That’s why we celebrate, Oh!
Flashing through the sky, riding on a cloud;
His trumpet He will blow, and blow real loud!
The angels will all sing, making spirits bright;
What fun it is to be a Christian and celebrate tonight.
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jesus was born t’day.
In a stable, by the inn,
That’s why we celebrate, Oh!
My sisters and I performed this song in “concerts” for my parents, to the tune of the traditional “Jingle Bells”. Originally, “flashing through the sky” came to me based on “dashing through the snow”, and then I built the rest of the song over a three-day period. I’m proud to say that this song is still sung today, passed along by my sister Shari to her quiverful of [eight, as I write this] children.
