All of us down here,
waiting for the end of the world,
or rushing to end it,
as fast as we can
We fight useless battles,
we fight continuous wars,
We test nuclear bombs
on the desert sands
They say that in America,
everyone can make it big
— if we work hard —
but what about the ditches we dig?
We have equal rights for everyone,
but babies are killed everyday
You know, sometimes I wonder —
what would those babies say
Waiting for the end of the world — Waiting
Waiting for the end of the world — Waiting
What will become of us? Waiting
Waiting for the end of the world — Waiting
The kids fighting on the street
— they just wanna live
The beggars are begging
— Do we ever give?
They’re takin’ drugs to get away
— Till the end
They’ll be doin’ crimes every day
— Till the end
(repeat chorus)
I’m out here, all alone,
and I’m waiting
They just don’t know the problems
they’re creating
I’ll reach out a hand to save you
— Jesus did the same for me
We can make it with Him
— into eternity
(repeat chorus)
