Running through the woods, lost on my way to I know not where
The road is faded away, no guide sign remains there
Strangers gather around, wondering where is the way
They speak of danger in the distance. Oh, so far away
It follows us, danger follows us, stays close behind
Let us learn where to go to escape — “don’t fall behind”
Wish upon a star, call on Allah — maybe Baal
Kneel to Buddha, it is all to no avail
God will save you, but you have to call
He will save you from your fall
Mediocrity — it habitually overcomes me
It tries to close my eyes so I can’t see
How low I am — how I can in no way compare
to God; the ruler and maker of every hair
He knows me like I know my own self
He is my friend, my brother, He saved me from myself
Wish upon a star, call on Allah — maybe Baal
Kneel to Buddha, it is all to no avail
God will save you, but you have to call
He will save you from your fall
Look out your window after the setting of the sun
Pick yourself a star — take any one —
Make your wish — wait for it to come true
You’ll wait forever, it won’t come thru
Or maybe...
Wish upon a star, call on Allah — maybe Baal
Kneel to Buddha, it is all to no avail
God will save you, but you have to call
He will save you from your fall
