Gargantuan forces on every side
Man in the middle, they try to collide
Mammoth business,
Bumbling Bureaucracy
No end to the persecution of the common man
crushed underneath things he cannot comprehend
Religions surround you,
Philosophy confounds you
Ideals merge, factions split and divide.
TV shows and movies have immortality to advertise
Please don’t feel too lost,
just think and count the cost
It’s not a big game, a play on a stage,
you have control of infernos that rage
Little girls and boys,
Come now, make the simple choice
Choices come down from the sky to confuse
Innocence is what you will certainly lose
You’re losing, but no wonder,
You need to think and ponder
It’s not a big game, or a play on a stage,
you have control of infernos that rage
Little girls and boys,
Come now, make the simple choice
Like many of my early songs/poems, I couldn’t leave this one alone, and quickly added the following lines:
Between the Lord in Heaven or Satan in Hell
Satan’s the rat that we all have to smell
Don’t eat from the age old tree,
the knowledge that will deceive
In this world we must search for recompense
For an answer I say that God makes some sense
Hand to Him your soul —
Still, you are in control
At least one handwritten copy had “U hav Con-Troll” as the title.
