I would love to write to you a song
Which would be like no song ever heard
To write those phrases which warm your soul
But what’s in my heart can’t be made words
I feel as if I could live with you
But I know that time will have to tell
Even if I have to wait for years
If this love is true, then very well
I could use the words of other men
I could write to you song after song
I could look at you with “goo-goo” eyes
I could tell how I “feel” all day long
But would it ever do any good?
Would it make a difference in your heart?
No, I don’t think that it ever would
I’ve done all that can be called my part
So, for now, my love will try to be
Faithful, trusting, kind and patient too
“Love bears all things” to the end of time
And one day, I know, Love will break thru
Also, keep in mind, “love is a choice”
It’s something your will has to decide
I have made this willful, conscious choice
I only wish that you would comply
But if you don’t, this is not “good-bye”
(Please forgive me if I have to cry.)
