I’m Wandering

or: “wandering”

I sit here tonight, and I look into your eyes
And I'm wondering if you know
The love I feel toward you
But I hope that you do
What a pity it would be if you never knew
What a pity it would be if you didn't love me too
And I'm wondering, I'm wondering
I'm wandering through your heart
I just hope
I don't
Get lost

I pray here tonight, as I look into your eyes
And I'm hoping that you know
The love I feel toward you
Yes, I hope that you do
What a pity it would be if you never knew
What a pity it would be if you didn't love me too
And I'm hoping, I'm hoping
I'm hoping for your heart
I just hope
I don't
Get lost

There's the chance that we take, when together we come
The chance that hearts will break, when the end will come
(But all is not lost; there's so much more to learn
I'll learn from you, You learn from me)
But I pray it doesn't end in agony
And I'm praying, I'm praying
I'm praying for your heart
I said I'm hoping, I'm hoping
I'm hoping for your heart
Yes, I'm wondering, I'm wondering
I'm wandering through your heart
I just hope
I don't
Get lost.

This was written with piano music I composed — I composed the tune and lyrics at the same time, in a piano practice room at CBC. The switch between “wondering” and “wandering” is intentional.

On the original document, I wrote it was “For: ‘Well, you know’ ” (MEK).
