The Light In Her Eyes

I have felt it, I have sensed it
I have seen the light in her eyes
As blood red love drifts up like smoke
Through the cold, black, and starry skies
The river flowing, wild, untamed
Was the light I saw in her eyes
The raven falls, helpless and lame
Was the light I saw in her eyes
Have you felt love, have you sensed it?
Have you seen the light in her eyes?
Has the blood red love flowed through you?
Taking you through the starry skies?
Quivering fingertips touching
Freezing rounded red cheeks blushing
I could see the light in her eyes
Dark curl of hair gently swaying
Hear gracious words her lips are saying
I loved to see light in her eyes
Relaxing under sun-streamt skies
Holding her softly as she cries
Once, I knew that light in her eyes
Broken man, stumbling, yet he tries
To salvage love before it dies
Only now, the light in her eyes
    IS GONE.
