There’s a place where I like to go
Where I feel at home
When I’m away, something is missing
The dim lights, loud, soothing music, friendly faces
They know my name
And my beloved spirits are fully stocked
Poured freely into my bloodstream
And I throb, I lust, I smile
The aches ease out of my body
The pleasure takes the place of the pain
But “how loosely woven is the fabric of happiness”
And, no matter how long you “let the good times roll”,
The curtain one day will fall.
Until then, give me
NITE LIFE,
on Asher & University, Little Rock.
