Heaven

What a long road I’ve walked, and I’m only twenty-seven
This life is so tiring, it’s no wonder that men invented Heaven
It’s about time I found that rest, that joy, that peace
It’s about time that the struggles finally start to cease
I can’t imagine being older
I already feel a little colder
I can’t imagine being more tired
I can’t imagine feeling less wired
How much longer before it all winds down?
How much longer before I’m underground?
Give me that rest
I gave you my best
I know I’m only twenty-seven
But already, I’m ready for Heaven

Note on original manuscript: “Not suicidal, just tired.”
