I Miss You

I don’t have to think about it for too long
To remember everything about you, girl
But with each day that passes
Another piece slips away
And my peace slips away

I can still see your soft eyes as they smile
Telling me just exactly what you’re thinking
But now those eyes see other things
And I know you’ve slipped away
You said “no”, and went away

In my mind you are still holding my hand
Your warm skin that dared to touch mine
But now your heart is colder
My memory starts to fray
I remember less each day

You were holding me, through every weak moment
But, since then, I’ve learned to be strong
Tho’ now my tears go unnoticed
They’re still dripping away
You’re still slipping away

The smell of your hair, as I nestled my head deep
Like rose blossoms, or fresh honeysuckle
But with each day that passes
Another piece slips away
And my peace slips away

Thinking of M.E.K.
