Hooded sweatshirts in the summer’s night
Handguns loaded to while away the fright
Snoring Jack-O-Lanterns whisper on to doom
And snake-skinned wily witches without a broom
Disappointing favorites cry from carpet burn
All the money you get is a third of what you earn
Using longest words to describe boredom so simple
Just to find that your happy bubble is a pimple
Longing for a long-lost legacy of intensity
Finding a drop when looking for immensity
Not enough heart or soul to make a single tear
Borrowing a fortune to buy just enough beer
Arrested, stoned, confused, jobless, quit and fired
Exhausted, dead, sleepy, weary, numb and tired
Pay phone cost versus the sum of a movie rental
And what the hell’s the point of being sentimental

I originally signed this “Rumpledforeskintiljeklie”, because I'm silly like that.
