Out Of The Closet

I turn on a horror flick, but don’t really watch it
I am a skeleton, pulling a man out of the closet
I am the bad man who has something good to hide
I am the wolf with the sheep inside
The food that tastes so bad, but is good for you
The friend that won’t call, but always comes through
My only tattoos are of a heart and a cross
And all my gain I count for loss

I watch the porno, but don’t get turned on
I am the coals you buried that (in the night) burned on
I am the beached whale, secretly breathing your air
I am the asshole trying to make things fair
The skinny guy who’s actually pretty damn strong
The little bit of money that lasts for so long
The seemingly weak-hearted man who lives through strife
And all my death leads on to life

I swear quite a bit, but I really mean no harm
And if you’re ever too cold, I will keep you warm

I had intended to write a full third stanza, but quit after writing two lines of it.
