Every time I
Think about you, girl
I can’t help but remember
Sometimes I wish I could forget
All that’s happened in between
All those twists and turns
We thought we knew what we were doing
We thought we knew what we were smoking
We must have thought our parents were joking
When they warned us
(I’ll admit it) Yes, they warned us

Each and every night
As I think about you, girl
I can’t help but wonder about it
Sometimes I wish it had turned out different
All that pain that you felt, the misery in my heart
All those tears and scars
We thought life would surely turn out better
We thought Someone was watching over us
We dreamed and hoped and prayed and then
Here we are, now
Still with a long road ahead

To no one in particular, but SAJ saw it first.
