Waiting For Beyond

I told too many lies, then I fully compromised,
And I did all the things I said I’d never do.
I closed both my eyes, and hardened my insides,
But all the while, I waited to hear From You.

Did I mature too late,
Or have I matured at all?
Perhaps what we sometimes call “death”
Is actually our final stage of maturity.
Much like the caterpillar, we live our useless lives
Until the tomb’s cocoon propels us to beauty.
... Waiting for ... Beyond ...
