Stepping Over

When the dreams of childhood are ready to fade
And the rivers of sin are getting too deep to wade
Sometimes it hurts to let go of the past
When you know the memories will last
Sometimes it hurts to make a change
When you’ve learned to enjoy the pain
And all the world is shifting sand
And there’s no one to lend a hand
In the mirror of time I see your face
But now it’s time I found a new place
I guess you know my heart was made for changing
Like when the dirt’s washed away by the raining
And hanging by a thread is no way to live
Although I enjoyed giving what I had to give
But even tho’ I can live with the pain
I’m a little scared of making the change
