Way Too Fast

Well, we snorted enough cocaine
To feed a small country
And I never made a move on you
But I liked the way you moved on me

And all of my friends, they told me
That "you-and-I" wouldn't last
But we proved them all wrong
When we lasted way too fast

I don't think that it was the drugs
That really clouded up our minds
It was loneliness and lust
That served to make us blind

And we drank enough whiskey
To drown a happy cat
But nothing really changed at all
After all of that

And all our friends, they told us
It was time to quit it all
Tho' no one ever told us
What waited at the end of our fall

I don't think that we needed
To scratch that endless itch
But I did, and you did
You filthy little b***h

When I titled this, I'd forgotten that I already had a poem with the same name from 2001.
