The cat I saw tonight
Was white as white as white
Staring in my eyes from grasses
Lit with moonlit bright
A lick of the paw
A stretch of the jaw
As many seconds did pass
He watched me from the grass
So used to being crossed by black
I, curiously, helplessly, stared back
Wondering what thoughts crossed
The mind of the cat that was lost
His curiosity satisfied
He departed with graceful stride
Crossing my path with white
Through the moonlit night
