There’s a monster in your mind
That took millenia to define
Its tentacles run deep and cling
Your plans, your kids, your everything
It speaks and sings, guilts and prods
Assisted by well-meaning frauds
Invented by men who wanted control
And then on history, they took their toll
You can’t divorce it, nor can you extract
Enough reason to recognize a fact
I know; I’ve been there; I have fought
Confusion and fear clouding every thought
The one weapon we own in this fight?
The monster is weakened by the light
(Light means reason, logic, and facts)
Keep shining it through all the cracks
