“It’s water under the bridge”
Some people say
As they forget the troubles
Of a bygone day
Forgetting that the river runs
Into the salty sea
From whence it will evaporate
In two years or three
Then falls as snow on mountains
Collects on every ridge
To melt next spring and flow again
Back toward the bridge
Ignoring yesterday’s trouble
Is exactly the same
When it rises once more, you’ll have
Only yourself to blame
