I’ve been assigned a mission
To improve the world’s cognition
Time to teach someone a lesson
It’s dangerous and clandestine
Now I’m going undercover
As a layman knowledge lover
To infiltrate the world again
With a thesaurus and a pen
The only goal: to plant the seeds
Of the reasoning the world needs
Armed with a Web full of facts
And a plan to commit kindly acts
In all honesty, I had simply realized no poem title from this year started with the letter
“M”, so I flipped through a few M-words in my mind until “mission” popped up.
It sounded good, so I ran with it.
