The heaviness of the world
Should not rest on me
I’m just a guy
With kids and a wife
I said to myself as I avoided sleep
But who should it rest on?
What is the special qualification
That should determine who
Thinks on these things?
Should it be those with piles of money?
Because that’s who’s doing it now
And a few who knew the right people
And a very small minority who
Worked hard to get in there
But soon became part of the weight itself
So yes, maybe I should
Bear some of the weight
Because of my kids and wife
And even for myself
Because we live here.
