No Matter What I Doubt

I remember that time
You said I’d be fine
Could not believe it
While we kept crying

Remembered those days
As the time passed by
Now they’re just haze
Remembered with sighs

Still holding out hope
Everything’ll work out
I’ve never said “nope”
No matter what I doubt

Two odd things about this poem: (1) As I composed it in my head, the lines matched the tune of the verses of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town”, and (2) every line in each stanza has the same number of characters and spaces — 20 for the first stanza, 21 for the next stanza, and 22 for the final stanza.
