How helpless we felt when the world went dark
We scattered for shelter while rulers boarded the ark
We scavenged and rationed and lived without lights
While plutocrats sailed and celebrated their rights
Cowering, we still cared, and collected our thoughts
We grieved as we gathered in secluded spots
Hunkered and hushed, we helped each other heal
Made certain the least had enough for a meal
And then!
With resolve and remembrance, we planned the next move
We watched and waited, with everything to prove
The owners still floated on their capitalist peaks
Forgetting the power that masses when the public speaks
Tactically, strategically, and with abundant patience
The people worked on rebuilding ruined nations
Dodging despair, refusing to listen to lies
We took back our world, kept our eyes on the prize
